# Windows on a strip, room to keep going

Turn on Scrolling Windows and every window becomes a column on a strip that runs past the edges of the screen. Open another app and it slides in beside the one you're using, without squeezing the rest.

- **Nothing gets squeezed:** Windows keep their widths. Move the focus and the strip scrolls to bring the next column into view.
- **Every action on the keyboard:** Focus, move, stack, resize and send windows with ⌃⌥ shortcuts. An action can have several, and you can change them all.
- **Picks up where you left off:** Column order, widths, stacks and grids come back after a restart, and each display keeps its own strip.

**Scrolling Windows is optional.** It stays off until you turn it on. While it's on, window snapping and automatic window snapshots pause, and restoring a workspace turns it off; the strip saves its own session instead.
